Week 4 Fantasy Sleepers DeVon Achane Quentin Johnston Jaylen Warren among top boom-or-bust options
Blog Article
Last week saw a slew of overlooked sleepers show out, and there's no doubt that more hidden gems will surface in the coming week. Who expected De'Von Achane to finish as the overall RB1 after a four-TD day? Not us. Yes, the tight end position is volatile, but Pharaoh Brown ending Week 3 as the overall TE2? You've got to be kidding. We'll do our best to try to forecast this week's top crop of breakouts, but it's anyone's gue s as to which overlooked player decides to put his team on his back. Our Week 4 fantasy sleeper list is here to pinpoint the next set of breakouts, including Quentin Johnston, Jaylen Warren, and an encore performance from Achane. We always stre s that any of our sleeper picksdisappoint in Week 4. We try to take some chances with our sleeper picks because recommending a bunch of "must-starts" doesn't benefit anyone. You shouldn't start our sleeper picks over proven, early-round studs, but if your roster is already loaded with stars, then you don't need our advice anyway. If nothing else, our sleeper picks can help you find DFS values, as the prices of these players should be affordable. We couldn't quite match our succe s from Week 2, but we still hit on Kenny Pickett, Tutu Atwell, Tank Dell, Sam LaPorta, and the Chiefs' D/ST last week. We'll look to get back on track with more big hits this week.WEEK 4 FANTASY: | Let's get into our Week 4 sleeper picks.MORE: Jaylen Warren, Steelers @ Texans (Sloan Piva). Warren is splitting snaps almost equally with running mate Najee Harris, and while Harris is still the lead back in terms of carries, Warren is the preferred option on pa sing downs. We wouldn't be surprised if he's the lead RB this week in Houston. Harris has been suboptimal with his opportunities, often looking tentative and clearly lacking burst, while Warren has looked like one of the better PPR backs in the NFL. Warren has averaged 6.3 yards per touch this season while catching 12-of-16 targets for 101 yards. Oh, and the Texans have surrendered the fifth-most fantasy points and third-most TD rushes to RBs this season Brian Flynn Jersey .Roschon Johnson, Bears vs. Broncos (Vinnie Iyer).Once more with feeling! Lets hope that Chicagos struggling coaching staff realizes it needs to run more with Justin Fields and others in an even or positive game script. Johnson has the power and burst to rip through a Denver defense with a hurting Josey Jewell.DeVon Achane, Dolphins @ Bills (Matt Lutovsky).Achane might have blown right past sleeper status with his Week 3 breakout, but as long as Raheem Mostert is still healthy, Achane shouldnt be considered a must-start. We still like him this week against a Bills defense that has been prone to long runs and allows a league-high 5.9 yards per carry. Dont expect another 50 fantasy points, but Achane can hit double-digits and pay off a flex spot.WEEK 4 STANDARD RANKINGS: | | | | | Daniel Jones, Giants vs. Seahawks (Piva). The 2023 NFL season has been a rocky one for Danny Dimes, who looked putrid in Weeks 1 and 3 against the Cowboys and 49ers but exploded against the Cardinals in the second half of Week 2. Well, now he draws a Seahawks secondary that made Andy Dalton and the Panthers look good, so we're betting Brian Daboll draws up a strong enough game plan on Sunday to make Jones well worth a start over a QB with a tough matchup.Matthew Stafford, Rams @ Bengals (Iyer).Smith has underwhelmed, Dan Hamhuis Kids Jersey but here he gets multiple TDs in a big game for his wide receivers against a struggling secondary. DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and the tight ends help him get in on the fun with Kenneth Walker also being key to a road victory.Brock Purdy, 49ers vs. Cardinals (Lutovsky). It never seems like Purdy has a high ceiling, but he definitely has a solid floor. He threw for a career-high 310 yards and another two TDs last week, and this week, he gets a Cardinals defense allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to QBs. Hes a safe starter in 12-team leagues.WEEK 4 PPR RANKINGS: | | | | | Adam Thielen, Panthers vs. Vikings (Piva). Thielen turned in a vintage performance with Andy Dalton under center last weekend, and now faces the team he spent the first nine years of his career with. Revenge game! The Vikings have surrendered the fifth-most catches, third-most receiving yards, and second-most touchdown receptions so far this season, so even with Bryce Young back, Thielen has WR3 upside.Jakobi Meyers, Raiders @ Chargers (Iyer).Hes been very productive in his two healthy games, and the coverage here is made for him to keep working well away from attention-dominating Davante Adams. He's a flex even if Jimmy Garoppolo (concu sion) is out.Quentin Johnston, Chargers vs. Raiders (Lutovsky). Joshua Palmer is the obvious pick here after he posted seven targets and a touchdown last week, but we expect the talented rookie to get going in place of Mike Williams (knee). Size-wise, Johnston is almost an exact clone of Williams, and even though he hasnt done much of anything this year, this is the type of favorable matchup where he can break out.WEEK 4 DFS: | | | Donald Parham, Chargers vs. Raiders (Piva). Parham has been one of Justin Herbert's favorite red-zone targets this season, with that duo representing a third of L.A.'s 12 red-zone completions. Three of those four catches have gone for touchdowns, and the scoring opportunities should only increase with Mike Williams out for the season.Cade Otton, Buccaneers vs. Eagles (Iyer). The rookie should be schemed open well, along with Gabe Davis, for key field-stretching plays in a high-scoring affair. He will work Kari Lehtonen Jersey well in the slot when needed.Logan Thomas, Commanders @ Eagles (Lutovsky). The Eagles have been the worst TE defense through three weeks, and the Commanders have given their TEs at least nine targets in each game, so Thomas real upside here now that he's back from a concu sion.Cincinnati Bengals @ Titans (Piva). The Bengals' defense looked dominant against the Rams on Monday Night Football, constantly attacking Matthew Stafford in the pocket and forcing hurried, low-percentage pa ses. Now Cincinnati travels to Nashville to face the bumbling Titans, who can't even seem to get Derrick Henry going. Ryan Tannehill has a career-high 3.6 percent interception rate, a career-low 67.7 QB rating, and he's been sacked 13 times. Cincy will feast.Denver Broncos @ Bears (Iyer). Its insane how bad Chicagos offense is to think about playing a defense that gave up 70 points in Miami last week, but here we are. Justin Fields is throwing a pick-six this week.Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Saints (Lutovsky). Jameis Winston? Yes, please. New Orleans offense wasnt exactly clicking with Derek Carr (shoulder), so the Buccaneers' opportunistic defense should be able to limit and turn over a Winston-led attack. Even if a le s than 100-percent Carr plays, we like Tampa's floor and ceiling.
